ANU Anime and Games Society Project; Mascot Design Concepts

This was a long project with the Australian National University’s Anime and Games Society. To go along with the already established club mascot, we created two new characters, one being of my rendition of the magical girl trop that’s very iconic to anime culture. I wanted to create a dark twist to this typically innocent genre and thus I played around with the concept of a girl who is being tricked by her heartless alien companion into killing dozens of humans and creatures, both innocent and evil. Despite this disturbing premise, I still wanted to depict the character Harmony to be extremely cheery to create a sense of eeriness and juxtaposition.
